Overview
Find your calling at Mercy! Under the supervision of Food Services management, the Hospital Food Service Supervisor assists in the coordination of department development and the planning, organizing, staffing and directing of operations and personnel in the kitchen, cafeteria, catering, Patient Call Center and Patient Room Service. In collaboration with leadership, a combination of core and secondary responsibilities are used to provide continuous excellent service to Mercy patients, guests and co-workers.
The supervisor performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.
- Coordinate department development and assist in planning, organizing, staffing and directing operations and personnel in the kitchen, cafeteria, catering, Patient Call Center and Patient Room Service.
- Collaborate with all leadership to achieve a combination of core and secondary responsibilities that provide excellent service to Mercy patients, guests and co-workers.
- Perform duties in alignment with Mercy mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

- Hours/
Schedule:
Full-Time (40 hrs per week) - Shift: Varies/Rotating
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Jefferson:
Food Handlers within 90 days of hire. - St. Louis/South:
Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire. - Springfield:
Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire. - Washington:
Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire.
- The physical demands described are representative of the minimums to perform all essential functions of the job. Most physical demands include: minimal kneeling or crouching, carrying < 20 lbs, push/pull < 12 lbs, pinch grip, data entry; occasional balancing on slippery surfaces; continuous gripping < 30 lbs and hand coordination.
- Preferred Education:
Associate’s Degree or above. - Preferred Experience:
2 years of experience in food service, acute care, or hospitality setting. - Preferred

Washington:
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM).
