Critical Care Nurse in Cape Girardeau, MO

Providing critical care to patients in a fast-paced ICU environment, this role requires a dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in intensive care nursing. The position is based in Cape Girardeau, MO, supporting a 14-bed Medical Surgical ICU that serves patients with complex post-operative and critical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a Medical Surgical ICU setting.
• Coordinate, plan, and implement nursing processes for critically ill patients.
• Manage patients with high acuity needs including post-OR CABG, neuroventricular drains, prolonged ventilation, sepsis, and stroke.
• Operate specialized equipment such as Alaris pumps, Prismaflex CRRT machines, IABP Abbott, and utilize EPIC electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float between CTICU/ICU and progressive care units as needed.
• Adhere strictly to infection control and safety protocols, including flu vaccination requirements.

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:

• Current RN licensure with at least 1 year ICU experience.
• Certifications in ACLS and BLS required.
• Comfortable working in a patient ratio up to 3:1.
• Proficiency with EMR systems, preferably EPIC.
• Strong team orientation and flexible work ethic.
• Experience with critical care equipment and diverse patient populations.

Schedule & Contract Details:

• Shift: Day, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 (option to work up to 48)
• Weekend requirement: every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Contract duration: 13 weeks, with possibility to extend up to 26 weeks.
• Up to 5 days requested time off automatically approved within contract.
• Work at least one major holiday during assignment.
