RN - OR Resource Coordinator
Works in conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor for the service. Performs the primary function of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of their patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Organizes and implements service in the assigned specialty area. Coordinates workflow in a timely efficient manner, including room set‑up and turnover, supplies and equipment needed prior to case start.
Functions in a staff role as needed, including relief for breaks and lunches. Assists in department operational support tasks and duties. Assisting in orientation of new coworkers and permanent team members in conjunction with the Supervisor and the OR Nurse Clinician.

Shift: 8 Hour Days (Mon-Fri) + Additional Call Hours

- Must start with Mercy within 12 months of graduation.
Mercy Hospital Southeast OR includes general surgery, 2 DaVinci Xi, urology, plastic, gyn, orthopedic, neuro‑surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. Peri‑op 101 through AORN is offered for new registered nurses. Our staff provides a comforting environment for patients undergoing an operation. We work alongside pre‑op staff, anesthesia providers, surgeons and recovery staff to safely provide care to patients needing an operation.
Qualifications- Experience:
Minimum of 1 year OR RN experience. In addition, proven leadership skills preferred. - Required
Education:
Nursing degree from an accredited school (BSN, associate's degree, or diploma). - Licensure:
Current RN license in Missouri and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Must maintain and meet all state board of nursing requirements. - Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit‑specific certifications, including ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), as required. - Preferred
Certifications:
CNOR. - Physical requirements/demands:
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
