Southeast Behavioral Hospital:

Southeast Behavioral Hospital is excited to begin offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Southeast Missouri. Our 102-provides a wide range of mental, emotional and behavioral health services for children, teens, adults and seniors experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and co-occurring substance use issues. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Cape Girardeau region has long been an area of vibrant commerce and abundance, with significant roots in agriculture and trading posts which produced generations of people full of pride and a determination to put in a hard day’s work.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Admissions RN, under the supervision of the Intake Director, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake RN is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.

The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements:

CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint within 30 days of employment. Successful completion of Handle with Care training and Service Excellence Training within 90 days of employment. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
