Job Summary
Saint Francis Healthcare System is looking for a board-certified Physician Assistant or board-certified Nurse Practitioner to join the system's Trauma/Acute Care group. Trauma & Acute Care are fast paced environments requiring critical thinking skills, attention to detail and confidence in decision making. Saint Francis's Trauma/Acute Care team is looking for a Provider with a strong work ethic and desire and willingness to practice at the top of licensure.
Job Details And Requirements
- Position Details:
- Join a group of 4, employed Trauma Advanced Practice Providers
- Completion of an acute care fellowship after completion of their master's program, preferred
- Previous ICU, OR, and procedural skills, required
- Schedule is 13, 12-hour shifts per month with rotating days and nights, holidays and weekends
- EMR:
Epic
- Admit, discharge, and manage daily care of Trauma & Critical Care Service patients, in collaboration with the attending physician
- Oversee care of patients in the Trauma Follow Up Clinic
- Perform bedside procedures including:
- Arterial line placement
- Endotracheal intubation
- CVS placement (non-tunneled dialysis catheters and Swan-Ganz catheters)
- Chest tube placement
- Basic fracture and dislocation reduction,
- Burn management, and
- Resuscitation
- Administer conscious sedation per protocol, perform ultrasounds for trauma and hemodynamic evaluation, PEG placements (excluding endoscopy portion), and act Surgical First Assist for Acute Care Surgeons.
Education
Graduate from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or successor accredited program.
Certification & Licensures
- APP will maintain the following certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS
- BLS and ACLS must be obtained prior to start date.
- PALS and ATLS to be obtained within 12 months of hire
- FCCS certification encouraged
