Patient Care Technician-PCT; Non-Exempt

Under the direction of the RN or LPN, this patient‑care technician assists in the individualized care of patients to achieve the highest level of wellness. The role supports the team by performing designated clinical procedures and non‑clinical support tasks essential to patient care.

• Assist with routine patient care activities under RN or LPN supervision.
• Perform designated clinical procedures as trained.
• Provide non‑clinical support tasks to aid patient comfort and recovery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to meet group goals.

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D., CNA/CPCT, or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school curriculum, or current Mercy employee.
• Licensure: None required at hire; in the state of practice, Mercy will provide a required 175‑hour training program that meets Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. Must complete orientation training within 90 days of hire to remain in the PCT position.
• Experience: None required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire; completion of PCT competencies within three months.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly; prolonged standing and walking each shift; ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed.

• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic, or previous patient care experience.
