Medical Assistant - General Surgery Clinic

Join Southeast Hospital as a Medical Assistant in the General Surgery Clinic. You will support physicians by delivering direct and indirect patient care efficiently, providing administrative assistance, and maintaining accurate documentation.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• One year of experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.
• Experience or training in a non‑HOD clinic (if applicable).
• Proficient in EHR clinical documentation.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment.
• Commitment to patient‑centered care and professional growth.
• Demonstrates cultural competence and awareness of diverse patient populations.

• Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction.
• Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of clinical equipment.
• Potential exposure to infectious materials; PPE provided.

• Ability to push, pull, or lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.
