American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care providers in the U.S., offering convenient, walk-in medical care seven days a week
. Our facilities are designed for efficiency and excellence, featuring onsite labs and in-house X-ray capabilities. We focus on episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine
.

As a Medical Assistant
, you will play a vital role in patient care, supporting our licensed providers and ensuring a seamless experience for all patients.

• Obtaining patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit
• Preparing patients for physical exams
• Explaining procedures and treatments to patients
• Ensuring all ordered tests are performed accurately and promptly
• Administering prescribed medications and treatments
• Performing blood draws and lab tests for in-house and reference lab processing
• Conducting drug screening procedures following regulations
• Documenting patient immunizations and administering vaccines
  
  Coordinating physician referrals and pre-certifications when needed
• Maintaining exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and managing supplies
• Accurately documenting patient care and responding to lab messages
• Assisting with other duties as assigned

• Previous Medical Assistant experience with certification
• A strong team player with excellent critical thinking skills
• Ability to anticipate patient and provider needs
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Compensation: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
