Southeast Behavioral Hospital, located on the banks of the Mississippi River in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is excited to begin offering aadomo full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the region.
Primary function: The Milieu Specialist ensures patient safety through staff education and staff culture development. The specialist assists the Nurse Manager and CNO with planning and oversight of the Mental Health Technician (MHT) patient care role, aiming to facilitate continuous and safe patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling. The Milieu Specialist is responsible for primary training, preceptorship, and mentorship of the MHT across the facility.
Patients served include children (ages 8–12), adolescents (ages 13–17), adults (ages 18–65), and geriatric (ages 65 +) if applicable. The specialist works with the Director Clinical Services to develop MHT group programming and implementation for all populations and maintains training and accountability of MHT group compliance (Fidelity Program).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Two (2) years of related security experience required, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness and hospital settings, highly preferred.
- Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
- Additional Requirements: Successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required upon hire. Handle with Care and CPR trainer preferred. Ability toичная work occasional extended/flexible hours as requested.

10:30 AM‑11 PM with rotating weekends
