PositionAquatic Director
Salary$44,000 - commensurate with experience
Qualifications- Strong background in swim lesson programming, aquatics, and water safety instruction
- Proven leadership experience supervising swim instructors and aquatic staff
- Degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse social and economic backgrounds
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certification (preferred at hire)
- Swim Lesson Instructor and/or Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (attained within 6 months)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification (attained within 1 year)
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee all swim lesson programs, including group lessons, private lessons, and specialty aquatic classes
- Ensure swim lesson curriculum aligns with best practices in water safety, skill progression, and age-appropriate instruction
- Schedule, teach, and evaluate swim lessons to meet community demand and participation goals
- Monitor program quality and participant outcomes; adjust programming as needed
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise swim instructors, lifeguards, and aquatic staff
- Conduct swim instructor, lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid trainings
- Ensure all staff certifications are current, complete, and compliant
- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to build a strong instructional team
- Oversee daily pool operations to ensure compliance with state, local, and organizational health and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels, safety checks, and facility maintenance
- Supervise and maintain pool equipment and facilities
- Manage the aquatics budget and monitor fiscal performance
- Track and report swim lesson participation and program effectiveness
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and local organizations
- Assist with marketing and promotion of swim lesson programs to expand community reach
