Job Title

MECHANIC

$25.85 per hour (90% of wage for 180 Day Probationary Period)

Under general supervision of the Operations and Maintenance Supervisor, performs skilled mechanical and minor electrical maintenance work on equipment used in sanitary engineering operation. Performs preventive maintenance, repairs pumps, motors, install equipment, replace bearings, mechanical seals, and assists the maintenance electrician with electrical panels and controls.

• Completion of high school or GED plus three years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Possession of a valid Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Possession of a valid Class B Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Experience repairing, overhauling, and installing pumps, motors, and other equipment used in wastewater treatment plants and lift stations.
• Knowledge of mechanical and minor electrical repair methods, preventive maintenance, and safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 135 pounds, work in confined spaces, read road, water, and sewer maps, and read blueprints.
