Overview

JOB TITLE: LABORER

SALARY RANGE: $21.22 per hour (90% of wage for 180 Day Probationary Period)

Under the supervision of the Operation & Maintenance Supervisor, the Laborer performs various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks to assist with the efficient operation of the department.

(Any combination of training and work experience that indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities required. Examples of acceptable qualifications for this classification follow.)

Required:

• Completion of high school or GED plus previous unskilled or semi-skilled work experience, or the equivalent.
• Possession of a valid Ohio motor vehicle operator's license.
• Willingness and ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools and motorized equipment to perform skilled and unskilled laborer tasks.

Examples of duties include operating vehicles not requiring a CDL, washing and cleaning trucks and equipment, digging and constructing (e.g., pavement removal, ditches, culverts), trimming vegetation, mowing, cleaning treatment plants and lift stations, snow removal, painting, loading/unloading materials, waste removal, brick laying, lifting and moving materials, handling manhole components, and placing warning signs and safety devices. The Laborer may also perform related duties as required.
