Electrician

Hourly Rate will is determined by level.

POSITION

DESCRIPTION:

Complete repairs and new installations on all electrical equipment and repair to electrical components of cranes in the entire facility. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all electrical motors, controls, and systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Level I:

* Complete all repairs to power distribution and equipment to 480v.

* Repair all crane functions including electrical.

* Read and interpret electrical schematics for troubleshooting and installations.

* Understand safe use of electrical test equipment.

* Troubleshoot all electrical motor operation and controls.

* Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings.

* Installs and bends conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables, while complying with electrical codes and standards.

* Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.

* Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.

* Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.

* Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Level II:

* Ability to perform all Level I Electrician duties.

* Ability to troubleshoot 4160V.

* Troubleshoot PLC's and VFD (Variable Frequency Drives)

Level III:

* Ability to perform all Level I and level II Electrician duties.

* Possess Journeyman's Card.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTITUDES:

* Valid driver's license

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Computer skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* All hand tools, wrenches, electrical test equipment, conduit bender, powered saws, drills, and any other tools or equipment necessary for job.

* Experience with overhead crane operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Ability to stand for long periods of time.

* Ability to occasionally pull, push, carry, or lift tools, equipment, or materials 50 lbs. or less.

* Ability to withstand occasional bending, squatting, or crouching.

* Ability to climb ladders and operate a powered man lift up to 50 feet.

* Ability to frequently handle (hold, seize, grasp, turn, etc.) tools, equipment, or material.

* Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, including cold, heat, and humidity.

* Adhere to all Safety Policies and Procedures, including, but not limited to proper PPE, and Daily Equipment Inspections.
