COMPASS Victim Advocacy Center - Community Engagement Coordinator

Overview

COMPASS Rape Crisis Center is hiring a Community Engagement Coordinator to develop and maintain collaborative relationships within the communities we serve. In this role, you would be responsible for effectively communicating the mission and vision of the agency, its programs, and services to cultivate a community free from violence and oppression. This is achieved by developing and maintaining collaborative relationships within our communities, utilizing structured activities and strategies to engage the community, and developing appropriate coordinated community responses.

We provide training for medical professionals, first responders, parent groups, college students and staff, and other groups about our services and how we can work to prevent sexual violence. We also distribute literature at health fairs, college campuses, and community events. We partner with other community-based programs to help spread the word about rape and sexual abuse in our communities.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
• Must have a valid driver s license and automobile insurance. Must regularly provide the agency with proof of valid automobile insurance.
• Ability to work with moderate supervision.

Our ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the effects of sexual violence on the victim, the family, and the community. They will carry on our mission to promote the healing of individuals impacted by sexual violence and to create social change. This individual will also support and carry out our vision of a community where all people can live free of sexual violence.
