Facilitator - Or Cardiac

Purpose of Position

The purpose of this position is to provide clear, accurate, and timely communication with the patient, families, staff, leadership, and physicians. The facilitator will also provide clerical work for the CVOR, provide a safe, secure, and clean environment in the CVOR; and provide the availability of supplies for the CVOR.

• High School Education
• Computer skills and the ability to run reports preferred. Knowledge of Material Management/Cleaning and Disinfection Principles preferred.

• Varied shifts starting at 5:30am, 8:00am, and 9:00am. M-F or hours as required by the job. On call rotating weekends and off shifts.
• Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.
• Sitting/standing/moving about during working hours
• High stress area

Utilizes tools and tones to accomplish the following

• Answers the phone identifying the department, themselves and “how may i help you” in a calm friendly voice.
• Calls sales reps as needed
• Accurately schedules surgical cases
• Assigns case carts for the daily schedule
• Runs daily reports i.e. schedule, times, and reports as needed
• Assembles paperwork for each patient
• Accurately communicates with patients, families, staff, leadership, other departments, and physicians.
• Calls arrival times to patients if Cardiac Same Day is unable to reach them.
• Calls in OH team for emergencies if during working hours
• Prepares OR for emergencies as able
• Prepares OR/anesthesia equipment for daily schedule
• Assists in patient transport
• Assists in transfer of patients in the OR as needed
• Maintains par levels for anesthesia supplies
• Stocks nursing supplies as needed
• Accurately orders supplies as needed
• Maintains anesthesia/OR equipment
• Attends codes in CVSICU and step down to anticipate surgical/anesthesia needs
• Cleans anesthesia area/ OR after surgical procedure
• Maintains security of the OR and anesthesia areas
