Administrative Asst - Wound Ca

Purpose of Position

To obtain all necessary information from both inpatients and outpatients to initiate treatment and billing by completing data entry into the Wound Care EMR.

The Wound Care registration/charge poster is the first contact to this hospital and department. The patient registrar must provide professional, efficient, quality customer service.

• Assists with bookkeeping tasks including but not limited to WC patient registration, customer scheduling, charge posting, statistic reporting, filing, and data entry
• Keeps the UD informed of any significant problems or concerns.
• Consistently communicates with all patients, families, customers and other personnel in a professional, respectful and courteous manner.
• Demonstrates flexibility in meeting the needs of the program and responds positively to changes in workflow.
• Promotes teamwork by demonstrating willingness to assist others in meeting the needs of all individuals and collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary team and other departments throughout the organization.
• Complies with infection control and safety policies.
• Consistently completes assigned responsibilities in required time frame and accepts additional duties and responsibilities as requested by UD.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills; strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to stimulate new ideas and create a positive work environment
• Has the ability to communicate with patients under mental and/or physical stress
• Assists with maintaining updated billing procedures
• Enter and/or verify all information into i-heal 2.0 Wound Care EMR system
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire for every Medicare patient
• Verify eligibility for Medicare/Medicaid utilizing electronic verification systems
• Screen all HBO candidates for medical necessity utilizing
• Assemble and tear down WC record
• Assign appropriate exam rooms and co-ordinate room assignment with charge nurse
