AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team and help manage and improve site security operations in our data centers.
Keyjob responsibilities
The selected individual will be responsible for managing physical security operations, developing post orders, defining security procedures, handling site incidents, working with security equipment, participating in construction projects, driving day‑to‑day process improvement activities, and managing vendors. Duties include ensuring consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures, participating in recurring site audits and reviews, and testing new security technologies. Must have resilient leadership skills, flexibility to work in a dynamic environment, exceptional knowledge of security practices, and strong written and verbal communication.
- Coordinate the day‑to‑day security activities for your assigned data center(s) under a manager’s guidance.
- Assess vendor compliance, track service deliverables, and raise corrective actions when needed.
- Provide support to all vendors within the data center.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with AWS security standards and policies.
- Lead the media security requirements within the data center.
- Participate in regular meetings with vendors, data center operations, and partner teams to sustain operational consistency.
- Effectively communicate with partner teams regarding security policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot security devices in coordination with the local security system integrator.
As a DC Security Manager, you will implement and verify compliance with security procedures, resolve alarms according to standards and policies, and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of physical security at our facilities. You will champion new initiatives, lead cross‑functional teams, write security strategies, drive processes to achieve industry‑leading security, and reduce costs through process improvement and technology enhancement. You will report to the Cluster Security Manager for your area.

- Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager interpreting and implementing personnel, industrial, and physical security requirements.
- 3+ years of security‑related professional experience.
- 2+ years overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
- 2+ years identifying security issues and developing mitigation plans.
- Experience in investigative work with law enforcement or security agencies.
- College degree (bachelor’s) and/or background in military, law enforcement with arrest authority, TSA security screening, or correctional facility officer.
- 1+ year experience with access control and video surveillance software (e.g., LENEL or C‑cure).
- 1+ year experience with workflow ticketing and performance metric extraction.
- 2+ years overseeing security subcontractors providing guards, electronic security systems, door construction, repair, fencing, and access controls.
- 1+ year experience overseeing security construction projects.
