About the Role

We’re looking for a Quality Control Technician that will support project teams by performing inspections, testing, documentation, and field verification activities to ensure work is constructed in accordance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and RNGD quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance, identifying deficiencies early, and supporting continuous improvement across field operations.

The Quality Control Technician works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and the Quality Control Manager to ensure proper implementation of the project quality plan and accurate documentation of all quality-related activities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Quality Inspections and Testing
    • Perform daily field inspections to verify work is installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
    • Conduct material verification and testing in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
    • Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with quality control procedures and tolerances
    • Document inspection results, deficiencies, corrective actions, and follow‑up activities
    • Assist in coordinating third‑party testing agencies and ensure timely reporting of results
    • Verify that corrective actions are implemented and properly documented
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and organized quality control records, including inspection logs, testing reports, and photographic documentation.
    • Prepare daily quality reports summarizing inspection activities and findings
    • Track non‑conformance reports and support resolution in coordination with project leadership
    • Assist in compiling turnover documentation and closeout quality records
    • Ensure all documentation is complete, legible, and submitted in accordance with project timelines.
  • Compliance and Standards
    • Ensure work complies with project specifications, local, state, and federal regulations, and applicable codes.
    • Support implementation of the project‑specific Quality Control Plan
    • Participate in internal and external audits as required
    • Monitor adherence to approved submittals and shop drawings during installation
    • Assist in verifying that materials delivered to the jobsite meet approved submittal requirements
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Communicate quality issues promptly to Superintendents, Project Managers, and the Quality Control Manager.
    • Work collaboratively with field teams to resolve deficiencies in a timely and professional manner
    • Participate in project meetings when quality updates are required
    • Support training efforts related to quality procedures and documentation standards
    • Maintain professional interactions with inspectors, clients, and subcontractors
  • Field Operations Support
    • Perform field walks across active construction areas, including uneven surfaces and elevated work areas as required.
    • Lift and carry materials, tools, and testing equipment as necessary to perform inspections
    • Stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods while conducting inspections
    • Utilize technology platforms, tablets, and quality management systems to document field activities
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of construction field experience
  • Prior experience in quality control, inspection, or materials testing preferred
