Position: Canton Public-Need Sub Custodian

** HS diplomaat least 21 years old

** Responsibilities:*
* + Assume duties of the district custodian in accordance with school district rules, and Kelly policies

+ Comply with school Safety Manual Rules and Regulations and OSHA requirements

** Canton Public Responsibilities**  **:*
* ** Cleaning & Maintenance*
* + Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect classrooms, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, and hallways.

+ Empty trash cans and recycling bins daily.

+ Wash windows, glass doors, walls, and other surfaces.

+ Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment regularly.

+ Deep clean floors (waxing, stripping, buffing) as scheduled.

+ Maintain restrooms with soap, paper products, and sanitation.

** Safety & Security*
* + Lock and unlock doors, windows, and gates as required.

+ Ensure all areas are secure at the end of the school day.

+ Report safety hazards or needed repairs to administration.

+ Monitor and restock emergency supplies (when assigned).

** Repairs & Upkeep*
* + Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening screws, and fixing small leaks.

+ Report major repair needs to maintenance staff or administrators.

+ Maintain custodial equipment in good working order.

** Event & Classroom Support*
* + Set up and break down for assemblies, meetings, and special events.

+ Move furniture and equipment as needed.

+ Assist teachers and staff with special cleaning or setup requests.

** Outdoor & Groundskeeping*
* + Sweep sidewalks and entrances.

+ Pick up litter on school grounds.

+ Assist with snow removal, salting, or lawn care as needed.

** Other Duties*
* + Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies (spills, accidents, etc.).

+ Follow safety protocols for handling cleaning chemicals.

+ Support the overall mission of the school by keeping the environment clean, safe, and welcoming.
