The Berg Group is looking for a Traveling Safety Coordinator to join our safety team in Canton, MS! The Berg Group, a specialty contractor based in the upper Midwest for over 50 years, offers integrated solutions in pre‑construction services, interior/exterior framing, and finishes. Headquartered in Minnesota, with additional offices in Naples, Nashville, and Austin, the company has been led by dedicated professionals.

The Safety Coordinator will work closely with the Regional Safety Manager and National Safety Director to provide single‑site safety supervision to 40‑50 field employees. We are seeking a candidate that is passionate about sharing and spreading a safety culture at The Berg Group and looking to grow and advance their career within the safety function.

• Work with the field team in managing hazardous working conditions and eliminating unsafe employee activities.
• Stay in regular contact with field staff in relation to safety practices, toolbox talks, and reporting procedures.
• Build rapport with the field so that communications are regular and consistent.
• Assist in new employee orientation, specifically safety program training as well as curriculum development.
• Hold field accountable to safety practices; provide spot or safety rewards per Berg’s program to positively reinforce behavior.
• Weekly reports to National Safety Director with a summary of all job site visits.
• Restock first aid kits and other first-aid items; eye solution, skin glue, etc.
• Document, investigate, analyze, and report all accidents and near misses.
• Comfortable interacting with General Contractor and reach out for assistance on situations outside of experience level.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Handle safety equipment including replacements and certifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suites.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of safety equipment, requirements, and state OSHA.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). organizational skills.
• Proven talent to retain a positive brand and relationship with a client while in the field.
• OSHA 30 certification.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Safety, industrial/construction hygiene, or Occupational Safety.
• Certified first responder.
• Bi‑lingual.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong communicator at all levels.
• Problem‑solving and organizational skills.

• Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10‑15 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying.
• Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
• Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
