What You Will AchieveThe Production Associate I – Collagen performs activities involved in the production of collagen. These activities include, but are not limited to, protein purifications, filtrations, and titrations in the production of high‑quality, purified, sterile collagen for both internal and external customers. This position requires working in a regulated area under the direct supervision of a team leader or departmental supervisor.
How You Will Achieve It- Responsible for producing collagen by performing protein extraction and purification, filtrations and dilutions, and chemical sterilizations following cGMPs.
- Responsible for performing in‑process testing including assays, titrations, and other color indicator testing.
- Responsible for running specialized equipment including a continuous flow centrifuge.
- Responsible for cleaning and assembling glassware and equipment for sterilization.
- Responsible for completing production documentation in a timely manner.
- Responsible for performing all tasks in compliance with company safety policies, especially involving chemical safety and proper lifting techniques.
- Provide assistance with process optimization and scale‑up activities, if necessary.
- May provide assistance to Engineering and Facilities Departments, as necessary, for equipment operation during calibration, validation, or repair.
- Maintain laboratory inventory supply.
- Responsible for writing deviation reports, as necessary.
What You Need to Achieve It
- B.S. or A.S. in a biological science or equivalent and 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Quality Systems regulations (cGMP) knowledge and clean‑room experience preferred but not required.
- Some knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and equipment such as using pipets and balances.
- Physical abilities that include the ability to lift up and push/pull per the safety requirements, and good dexterity.
- Ability to work in cold‑room conditions (2–8°C).
- Ability to closely follow procedures and a good attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good problem‑solving skills.
- A pre‑employment physical and lift test is required for this role.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods of time.
- Must have the ability to work in cold‑room conditions (2–8°C).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $24.04 - $24.04 per hour and reflects current market data for similarly‑sized life science companies and internal equity. Organogenesis is a multi‑state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit‑based increases, eligibility for our 401(k) plan with competitive company match, medical, dental, vision, education assistance, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state and federal law.
Our time‑off policy includes paid vacation days, paid company holidays, and paid sick time. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education, and other factors permitted by law.
