Housekeeper I – Hebrew Senior Life
Position SummaryTo perform housekeeping tasks and assignments. Assist with personal laundering/bed making. Assist resident care by responding to emergencies. Eligible to perform duties in all wards including I.L, SNF & ALU floors.
Job DescriptionEssential worker: required to present to work even with difficult weather. Exposure to blood or other potentially infectious material during cleaning certain areas.

- Clean assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures

- Clean mirrors, sinks and toilets in common areas according to prescribed sanitary standards
- Remove debris/trash from front of building, driveways, and all common areas inside or out
- Wash, dust, polish, vacuum and sweep all areas of lobby and commons, including Front Desk, elevators, administrative offices and corridors, bathrooms
- Periodically check and restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap and hand towels in common area restrooms
- Report observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning to supervisor
- Listen and respond to resident, guest and staff requests and inquiries
- Stock and clean storage area for equipment and supplies
- Maintain all equipment used in clean, organize & performing duties
- Follow safety and infection control procedures
- High school diploma preferred
- One to two years in Housekeeping preferred
- Ability to listen, write, and speak effectively preferred
- Knowledge of infection control policies
- Thorough understanding of operating cleaning methods and equipment
- Friendly and approachable attitude
- Must respond quickly to alarms
- Prolonged periods of walking and/or standing; bending, stooping, reaching, moving light furniture
- May lift up to 40 pounds
- Exposure to chemicals, medical waste, unsanitary conditions, unpleasant odors, hazardous chemicals
- May use housekeeping cart, mop and bucket, vacuum, floor equipment, ladder to 6/8 feet
- Time spent >95% in air‑conditioned environment, varying noise levels, protection from weather
- Interaction with residents, family members and staff under all conditions
Works Mondays through Fridays. Some weekends & holidays. Staff considered essential, must be present as scheduled even under hazardous weather conditions.
Salary Range$16.16 - $24.99 hourly.
