Our stable and growing client has an immediate need for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers, CAD designers, field engineers, and technicians in developing, designing, and delivering high-quality, infrastructure-level project work. This role combines technical leadership with project and personnel management to ensure that engineering solutions meet the clients’ requirements and growth objectives. In this leadership role, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for mentoring, overseeing, and expanding their team of engineers.

The Engineering Manager will ensure that projects meet technical goals and client satisfaction, while also reviewing and approving design documents, drawings, calculations, and technical reports. Additionally, they will coordinate with cross-functional teams, including those involved in system installation, materials procurement, and business development. To be considered for this important role, candidates should have experience providing expert-level technical direction for utility, power, or pipeline construction projects.

Additional Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in project management and utility or pipeline industries, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or managerial role.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or MBA degree a plus.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning for the engineering department.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and professional development, client follow-up, and business development support.
  • Interface with clients to define requirements, provide technical guidance, and present viable solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or comparable.
  • Strong understanding of corrosion control or cathodic protection, AC/DC interference effects and mitigation methods, and electrical grounding and lightning protection systems, all considered beneficial.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, CDEGS, etc.)
  • Experience with oversight of field testing, maintenance, system commissioning, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and successful project delivery.
