Minimum QualificationsStandard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of any General Education Development (GED) Testing Program preferred, or satisfactory completion of Food service basic skills test. Food service experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Pay Grade$15/hour
GoalPrepare and serve nutritionally adequate meals to students, staff and visitors in an efficient and courteous manner.
This position is a temporary assignment; payment based on hours worked, and as work is available, with no eligibility or seniority for employee benefits. All employees are eligible to participate in the CCSD 403(b) or 457(b) retirement savings account.
RepresentativeDuties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of various foods for cooking and serving.
- Follow recipes to ensure the menus are low-fat and healthy.
- Use portion control to equally portion all foods.
- Implement state/local health codes as they relate to food service.
- Follow all safety regulations.
- Wash dishes, and store them properly.
- Sweep and clean kitchen floors.
- Serve on the serving line.
- Know the procedures for operating large and small food service equipment.
- Follow appropriate dress codes to represent school nutrition in a professional manner.
- Clean equipment, kitchen and dining tables, as needed.
- Report faulty equipment to School Nutrition Manager.
- Help to check in USDA commodities and purchased foods.
- Help with the unloading and storage of all foods and supplies.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward the job, fellow workers, school staff and students.
- Participate in and attend all in-service training programs.
- Perform necessary average lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
- Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
