The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management of the company’s information technology infrastructure, systems, and security. This role oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of technology solutions that support business operations, drive efficiency, and ensure data integrity across all departments.
This position is NOT a remote position. It will require being on-site daily and will be hands on
. May require travel occassionally.
- Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy aligned with organizational goals and growth plans.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to determine potential benefits for innovation, productivity, and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify technology needs, priorities, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, hardware, and software applications.
- Ensure all business systems (ERP, HRIS, CRM, production, and communication tools) are reliable, secure, and integrated.
- Manage data storage, backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Lead system upgrades, conversions, and new software implementations.
- Direct Managed Service providers (one in each location - GA and KY) and support IT staff in day-to-day operations, help desk services, and technical troubleshooting.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor system performance and ensure uptime, reliability, and security.
- Establish and maintain security protocols to protect company data and intellectual property.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants.
- Negotiate contracts and oversee performance of external partners.
- Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required;
Master’s preferred. - 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Proven track record of leading technology projects and implementing enterprise-level systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking, systems architecture, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing technology integrations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on operational management.
- High integrity, strong problem‑solving ability, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
