As a Pharmacist in Charge, you will be responsible for the overall direction of the facility pharmacy following all the state and federal regulations.
Requirements- Current Pharmacist license
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Prior knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations
- Free of chemical use problems for two years immediately preceding hire
- Maintain complete and accurate records and complete pharmacy variances as needed.
- Monitor, control and maintain inventory of medications and supplies needed.
- Reconcile the medication inventory monthly and maintain reconciliation reports.
- Assume responsibility for the preparation (verifying doses, pre‑pouring, labeling all take‑home medications, and sign off for distribution) of all take‑home medication for persons who have earned such privileges.
- Secure opioid medication by restricting access to medication areas.
- Ensure receiving and handling of the medication follows all state and federal laws and DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) 222 forms are completed accurately.
- Conduct Biennial Inventory as required by the DEA.
- Provide direction and supervision to pharmacy personnel.
- Review drug interactions and medication information before initial medication is ordered for clients.
- Maintain compliance with PTC policies and procedures, CARF, DEA, CSAT, State regulatory bodies and the Board of Pharmacy guidelines and reporting standards.
- Oversee quality assurance of the pharmacy including monthly review of incident reports.
