The Serverfarm Data Center Technical Training Approver is responsible for input on governance, quality, and technical integrity of all data center technical training content. This role ensures that training materials support Serverfarm’s operational standards, safety culture, and reliability objectives, while remaining aligned with industry best practice and the real‑world requirements of Serverfarm MEP operations.

The role acts as a subject‑matter expert for reviewing technical training content used to develop and maintain competent data center technicians across Serverfarm’s global portfolio.

Technical Training Review
  • Review and advise on technical training scripts, lesson plans, and Sequence Of Operation (SOOs) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Serverfarm’s operating procedures and standards.
  • Review and validate technical training assessments to confirm they appropriately measure competency, understanding, and operational readiness of Serverfarm data center technicians at the appropriate role levels.
  • Ensure training content reflects Serverfarm’s vision of operational excellence for safety, compliance, and risk management expectations.
Training Alignment & Standardization
  • Ensure technical training is aligned and standardized across Serverfarm sites and operator role levels, supporting consistent operational outcomes while allowing for site‑specific requirements where necessary.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Learning & Development teams to ensure training content supports Serverfarm’s business objectives and operational maturity model.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated content and drive updates to maintain a current and effective training library.
Training Tools & Platforms
  • Review and provide technical input into Serverfarm’s training tools and delivery methods.
Vendor & Industry Engagement
  • Review and assess vendor technical bulletins, product updates, and announcements for impact on Serverfarm operations and training requirements.
  • Engage with equipment vendors and internal engineering stakeholders to ensure vendor‑specific content is accurate, relevant, and correctly contextualized for Serverfarm environments.
  • Ensure training materials reflect current technologies used across Serverfarm’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems.
Required Skills
  • Technical Expertise
  • Proven experience and strong understanding of a data center MEP technician role, ideally within a hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation data center environment.
  • Practical knowledge of operating critical infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, mechanical cooling systems, and associated monitoring and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of system design, Sequence of Operations (SOO).
  • Strong understanding of industry best practice for data center operations, safety, security, availability and reliability.
  • Learning & Training Capability
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles, with the ability to assess whether technical training content is effective for experienced technicians and new hires alike.
