The Transmission Line Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the construction of high-voltage transmission lines across the state of Georgia. Ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards. This role acts as the primary field leadership interface between contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day field construction activities for transmission line projects (69kV–500kV+)
- Oversee contractor performance, productivity, and adherence to scope, schedule, and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, environmental permits, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate construction sequencing, outages, access, logistics, and material delivery
- Monitor schedule progress and support recovery planning when deviations occur
- Track and control project costs, change orders, and field quantity reporting
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance reviews
- Lead safety oversight, participate in tailboards, and enforce safe work practices
- Facilitate communication between engineering, land, environmental, and construction teams
- Resolve field issues related to design conflicts, constructability, or unforeseen conditions
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and progress updates for stakeholders
- Support commissioning, punch list resolution, and project closeout activities
- 8–10+ years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman or other relevant experience
- Previous experience working for a major utility on T&D construction projects
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors on utility-scale projects
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel or work in field environments as required
