Sales Specialist - Dairy Energy Solutions

Our client, Rural Energy, is a 100% locally owned business on a mission to transform how New Zealand’s dairy sector powers its farms.

They provide renewable energy solutions that reduce costs and carbon, helping farmers keep more money in their pockets while transitioning to a sustainable future. Their ambition is bold - saving the dairy sector over $500M in energy costs. To support this growth, we are looking for a highly driven, door-to-door sales professional who thrives on building relationships in the rural community and closing deals.

The Role:

This is a frontline sales role where success comes from getting out on farm, starting conversations, and building trust with dairy farmers.

You’ll identify opportunities, assess farm energy usage, and present tailored solutions that deliver both cost savings and sustainability benefits.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively prospecting and generating new business through door-to-door engagement with farmers
  • Building strong relationships with dairy farm owners and managers
  • Conducting on-farm discussions to understand energy usage and opportunities
  • Presenting compelling energy solutions including renewable options such as solar
  • Managing your sales pipeline and consistently closing new business
  • Working with internal teams to deliver customised energy solutions for each farm
About You

This role suits a confident hunter-style salesperson who enjoys being on the road and engaging directly with customers. You will bring:

  • A strong track record of generating leads and closing sales
  • Confidence approaching new customers and starting conversations
  • Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
  • High levels of self-motivation, resilience and drive
  • Interest or background in agriculture, rural communities, or energy solutions (advantageous)
