** About the Role
** We have a permanent, full-time opportunity within our Te Waipounamu Regional team. The
** Manager, People and Operations
** is a key management and leadership role in the regional service. The primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership and effective day-to-day operational management for the Regional Operational and Public Health Specialist team to deliver strategic, policy and operational priorities to enable the realisation of Pae Ora.
** About the Team/Service/ Location
** The NPHS sits within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora and works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
** About you
** You are an experienced public health leader with proven experience of building capability and lifting performance of a multi-disciplinary team/unit. You will be able to deliver on programmes of work in a complex environment and be involved in developing and implementing effective group strategies.
* Demonstrated Operational management experience of at least 3 years
* Experience in Financial management
* Experience in Clinical management highly desired
* Experience in leading change, and service and quality improvement initiatives
* Experience in applying critical thinking, using sound judgment to develop options and the machinery of government
* Proven supervision, mentoring, coaching and teaching skills
* Demonstrable understanding and experience working in partnership with Pacific communities
