Spinal Injury Support Worker - Nights

Libertatem Healthcare Group is offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join their team in Canterbury, working with a male client in his late 50s who has a spinal injury following a road traffic accident. The role involves providing comprehensive support, including personal care, medication administration, and emotional support, to help the client maintain independence and dignity in their own home.

The Spinal Injury Support Worker will be responsible for assisting the client with personal care, such as washing, dressing, catheter and bowel management, preparing meals, administering medication, providing cough assist and nebulisers, and offering emotional support and companionship. They will also be involved in supporting the client with moving and handling, as well as light housekeeping duties.

Spinal Injury Support Worker

Location: Canterbury Salary: £17.36 per hour weeknights, £18.18 per hour weekend nights - Waking nights. £9.50 per hour - Sleeping night rate.
Job Type: Zero-hour contract Shifts: 8pm-8am, 7 days per week. Full time/part time hours available, on both waking and sleeping night shifts.

We also have day shifts available, 8am-8pm, 7 days per week.

Role Overview: We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Canterbury, working on a 2:1 ratio. Our client is a male in his late 50’s with a Spinal Injury following a road traffic accident.

He has a catheter and requires daily support with bowel management, cough assist and nebulisers, plus risk of autonomic dysreflexia. To support his independence, we’re seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting relationship, with previous Spinal Injury experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, catheter and bowel management)
• Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
• Administering medication and supporting with cough assist and nebulisers (training provided)
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Supporting with moving and handling

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with high level spinal cord injury with complex needs.
• Experience with catheter care, bowel management and/or knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia.
• A caring and compassionate nature
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
