Location: Canterbury Salary: £16.53 per hour weekdays, £17.36 per hour weekends Job Type: Zero‑hour contract Shifts: 8am–8pm, 7 days per week. Full time/part time hours available.

We also have waking and sleeping night shifts available, 8pm–8am, 7 days per week.

Role Overview

We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Canterbury, working on a 2:1 ratio. The client is a male in his late 50s with a spinal injury following a road traffic accident. He has a catheter and requires daily support with bowel management, cough assist and nebulisers, plus risk of autonomic dysreflexia.

To support his independence, we’re seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting relationship, with previous spinal injury experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, catheter and bowel management)
  • Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
  • Administering medication and supporting with cough assist and nebulisers (training provided)
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Supporting with moving and handling
  • Light housekeeping duties
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with high level spinal cord injury with complex needs.
  • Experience with catheter care, bowel management and/or knowledge of autonomic dysreflexia.
  • A valid UK driving licence essential to drive during shift.
  • A caring and compassionate nature.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
