The King’s School Canterbury is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Assistant Examinations Officer to join our Academic Office.

Reporting to the Head of Examinations and Deputy Head (Academic), this pivotal role supports the planning, administration and delivery of all internal and public examinations. You will help ensure examinations are conducted securely, efficiently and in full compliance with awarding body regulations, including JCQ and Cambridge International requirements.

Working part-time (average three days per week, 09.00–17.00) across the year, you will work full time during peak public examination periods, particularly from mid-April to late June. Flexibility is essential to meet the demands of the examination cycle.

Key responsibilities include supporting examination entries, maintaining accurate candidate records on the school MIS, assisting with timetable management, coordinating invigilators, preparing examination rooms, administering access arrangements with the SENCo, and supporting post-results services. You may also deputise for the Head of Examinations when required.

The successful candidate will have strong administrative experience, exceptional attention to detail, excellent ICT skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Experience in a school examinations environment is essential; knowledge of iSAMS is desirable.

Join a leading independent school committed to excellence, integrity and outstanding academic support.

The King’s School is committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair, robust and consistent recruitment process which is in line with the statutory Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates.

All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.
