Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Specialist SEN Schools

Are you an experienced HLTA or senior Teaching Assistant ready for a role where you can take on greater responsibility and make a real difference?

We are currently supporting several specialist SEN schools across East Kent who are looking to recruit Higher Level Teaching Assistants immediately. These settings support pupils with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties, and are seeking confident support staff who can help drive pupil engagement and progress.

As an HLTA, you will play a key part in supporting teaching and learning across the school. This is a varied role where you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access the curriculum and develop essential life skills.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Delivering targeted interventions and structured learning sessions

• Covering lessons and supporting learning when teachers are unavailable

• Supporting pupils with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and complex needs

• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

• Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support pupil development
