KMMS: Senior Lecturer and Module Lead Year 3

For the successful candidate, the school will consider benchmarking to the NHS pay scale appropriate to the successful candidate's clinical discipline and level in clinical practice. This is to be discussed as part of the interview process.

We are seeking an inspirational educator and role model to make a major contribution to teaching and the design, delivery and evaluation of clinical placements in the pivotal Year 3 of the School's undergraduate medicine programme. The post holder will ensure alignment of teaching with Year 3 learning objectives. The role will engage with placement providers to ensure equivalent learning experience, consistent high‑quality of Year 3 teaching, and will seek improvements by reflecting on placement design teaching methods and student and provider feedback to enhance Year 3 provision.

• Delivering and contributing to the design of high‑quality, demand‑driven, and student‑centred taught programmes as a member of the teaching team.
• Working with the Academic Lead for Year 3 to manage the teaching, evaluation and development of Year 3 of the BM BS programme.
• Collaborating with undergraduate faculty across placement providers to ensure parity in placement planning, design and delivery.
• Using experience of current clinical practice to engage in quality assurance activity which will include visits to placement providers, regular communication with trust partners, attendance at placement based mid and end of module forums, review of feedback from both students and placement faculty and evaluation of pertinent assessment data.

• A primary medical qualification and full registration with the GMC, with a current licence to practise.
• Current entry on the GMC General Practice Register with a Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) or equivalent.
• In current clinical practice and commitment to remain in clinical practice for the duration of the KMMS contract.
• Fellowship/Membership of an appropriate Royal College.
• Academic credibility with a track record of excellence in teaching.
