1:1 Teaching Assistant SEMH Canterbury
Full-Time Monday-Friday Term Time Only Long-Term with Potential for Permanent Placement
Academics are recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Canterbury. This role involves working closely with a single pupil, providing tailored academic and emotional support to help them engage positively with learning and school life.
The Role:Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with SEMH needs
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Assist with differentiated learning activities inside and outside the classroom
Build a strong, trusting relationship to promote engagement and progress
Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
Able to set clear boundaries while remaining supportive
A positive role model who can build rapport and encourage confidence
5 day per week availability
£90 - £100 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
