Position 1:
Teacher Years 7 and 8 (1.0 FTTE) or 0.8 FTTE with Learning Support Co-ordinator (0.2 FTTE) role below

  • Permanent, full-time Special Character position from Term 2 2026
  • As this is a Years 7 and 8 position, primary-trained teachers are welcome to apply, as are beginning teachers

Position 2:
Learning Support Co-ordinator (0.2 FTTE) role for experienced teachers

  • Permanent, part-time position from Term 2 2026, subject to holding Teacher of Years 7 and 8 role above

We are seeking a teacher to join our kura in a permanent role from Term 2 2026. As a Special Character position, a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the College is a condition of employment.

Catholic Cathedral College is a special character, co-educational College with around 600 students from Year 7 to Year 13, centrally located on the historic site where Catholicism in Christchurch began, and immediately adjacent to the original site of the Catholic Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament on Barbadoes Street. We are a culturally diverse, whānau-focused school and follow the charisms of our founding orders To Live by Faith.
