Position

Avonside Girls' High School seeks a visual arts teacher for a fixed term full-time maternity cover role, beginning Monday, 20 April 2026 (start of Term
2), ending Friday, 2 July 2027 (end of Term
2).

Please state specialist visual arts subjects. An ability to teach design to level 3 and scholarship is advantageous.

The suitable candidate will have experience in raising achievement for ākonga Māori as Māori and Pasifika as Pasifika as well as having high expectations for all students to excel in this learning area. They will align with our school values in their approach to teaching and have some experience in junior and/or senior visual art areas.

Applicants must have residency or a work Visa and accompanying registration.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Certificated teacher status (required).
  • Ability to teach specialist visual arts subjects; an ability to teach design to level 3 and scholarship is advantageous.
  • Experience in raising achievement for ākonga Māori as Māori and Pasifika as Pasifika; high expectations for all students to excel in visual arts.
  • Residency or a work visa and accompanying registration.
