St Margaret's College offers a unique education for girls from Preschool through to Y13, both boarding and day girls. At St Margaret’s Preschool we believe in building positive relationships in a calm and nurturing environment. Our qualified kaiako have worked hard to develop a programme that empowers children’s learning and development.

The role

Are you a passionate early childhood educator who believes the early years lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning?

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic preschool teacher to join our dedicated team and help create a place where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn every day.

In this role, you will actively contribute to a collaborative teaching team, providing a high-quality early childhood education experience grounded in sound, effective educational practice. You will help foster a warm, respectful environment where children grow into happy, confident, and capable learners who are well prepared for their transition to school.

About the role
  • Create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support each child’s individual journey
  • Build strong, nurturing relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Contribute positively to a supportive and professional teaching team
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
  • Act as the responsible person when opening or closing the Preschool, ensuring smooth and welcoming starts and finishes to each day
About you

You are a reflective and committed educator who brings warmth, professionalism, and a genuine love of early learning. You value teamwork, communicate openly, and understand the importance of creating a calm, secure environment where children can thrive.

Applicants with a specialist teaching subject such as music and movement would be an advantage.

If you are excited by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s early years and be part of a caring, values-driven preschool community, we would love to hear from you.
