Responsibilities include adhering to cleaning specifications and schedules, continuously developing and improving quality standards, and maintaining a focus on health and safety for yourself, your colleagues and others affected by your work activities.

• Carry out cleaning tasks as required by the contract specification and supervisor with agreed timescales
• Be punctual and attend for duty as requested
• Achieve the highest standard of work with a positive team spirit
• Continuously develop and improve quality standards
• Meet managers, clients and company expectations
• Respond to any reasonable request of the company or client
• Ensure products, equipment and materials are properly maintained and stored
• Use initiative to resolve problems where appropriate
• Maintain appearance and conduct to company expectations and wear appropriate clothing/PPE
• Communicate any unresolved cleaning issues

• Awareness / knowledge of health & safety issues
• Experience in cleaning or related work
• Interpersonal skills: tact, diplomacy when dealing with client personnel and visitors
• Responsibility for checking quality of work and supervising less experienced staff when required
• Physical resource management: care for tools, confidentiality, impact on animal care where applicable
• Communication: oral and written with site manager and client staff; liaison with contractors, inspectors and governing bodies
• Judgement and decision making: decide how to tackle work, adjust priorities, solve technical problems independently
• Concentration: alertness, especially near machinery, with animal enclosures, and adherence to lone working procedures
• Flexibility: respond promptly to internal requests and carry out tasks beyond general duties
