Stepdown Registered Nurse - Canfield, Ohio

Deliver specialized nursing care in a progressive care unit focused on neuro patients. This 12-hour night shift position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity stepdown unit, managing complex conditions such as multi-system organ failure and neurological emergencies. Candidates will engage closely with interdisciplinary teams and families to provide patient-centered care that promotes recovery and quality of life.

Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state regulations and facility protocols.
• Coordinate care across hospital departments, serving as a key communication point.
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage patients requiring advanced monitoring, including hemodynamic support and transvenous pacing.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families coping with neurological conditions.
• Comply with the nursing professional practice model and maintain documentation in electronic health records.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Current RN license with compact state coverage.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; neuro stepdown or critical care experience preferred.
• Ability to use clinical judgment to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar EHR systems preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
