The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and tracking inbound shipments from domestic and international vendors, ensuring compliance with receiving standards and resolving any exceptions. This role supports daily logistics operations, conducts cost tracking and analysis, and works cross‑functionally to manage delivery issues and improve performance across the inbound supply chain.
- Coordinate and track inbound shipments, managing timelines from domestic and international vendors.
- Communicate dock availability and schedule appointments with warehouse receiving teams.
- Monitor inbound logistics performance metrics (e.g., OTIF, dwell time) and report variances.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve OS&D (overages, shortages, and damages).
- Ensure incoming shipments meet labeling, packaging, and configuration standards.
- Investigate and resolve delivery exceptions or incomplete documentation.
- Escalate unresolved logistics issues to internal teams or external partners as necessary.
- Perform daily reconciliation of logistics‑related expenses; ensure billing accuracy for transportation and warehousing.
- Analyze monthly logistics cost reports, identify cost variances, and recommend savings opportunities.
- Reconcile vendor accounts (including carriers and 3PLs); investigate discrepancies and manage disputes.
- Support daily operational tasks such as load tendering, documentation creation, and exception tracking.
- Ability to use ERP and TMS systems (SAP preferred) to manage shipping, invoicing, and cost tracking.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and drive resolution in a fast‑paced logistics environment.
- Experience working with warehouse operations and purchasing/sourcing departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics coordination, transportation planning, or supply chain operations preferred.
- Familiarity with international shipping documentation, vendor reconciliation, and customs processes is a plus.
USD $20.19 - $24.02 /Hr.
