The Logistics/Maintenance Planner is responsible for the strategic scheduling and coordination of fleet deployment and maintenance to maximize operations uptime and efficiency. This role serves as the critical link between operations and regulatory maintenance, ensuring that both Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Automatic Diesel assets are serviced in compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Scheduling:
Develop and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs for all mobile equipment.
Operational Logistics:
Develop and optimize logistics program, coordinate equipment deployment, tracking, and service windows with operations to ensure timely delivery and site setup, while minimizing disruptions.
Resource Planning:
Identify and secure all necessary parts, specialized tools, and labour (internal or third-party) before work begins to maximize "wrench time".
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all fleet assets meet National Safety Code (NSC) standards and specialized CNG pressure vessel inspections.
Data Management:
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and in-house fleet tracking software to coordinate deliveries to customers and track maintenance schedules.
On-Call & 24/7 Operations
Rotational Standby:
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide technical guidance and logistics support for emergency breakdowns.
Emergency Response:
Primary contact for after-hours "Equipment Down" scenarios, coordinating with mobile service units or third-party towing specialized in CNG recovery.
Operational Continuity:
Manage re-routing of assets during major fleet disruptions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience:
5+ years in fleet logistics and/or maintenance planning.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with safety standards, compliance in Canada, and safety fitness certifications
Education:
Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related mechanical trade an asset
Compensation
105,000 to 120,000 per year (yearly performance evaluation)
3 weeks’ vacation to start
Laptop, cell phone allowance
RRSP program and benefits eligibility after probationary period
Reporting to Director of Canadian Operations and HSE
