Electrician – Tunnelling Projects

We are seeking electricians with tunnelling experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for microtunnelling and tunnelling projects. You will work closely with our team of supervisors to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Review operations and maintenance manuals for tunnelling equipment and perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Respond to unplanned maintenance and repairs requests.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for tunnel and microtunnelling projects, including power distribution systems, lighting, controls, and communication systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and develop solutions to ensure continuous operation.
• Collaborate with other electricians and supervisor to ensure all electrical systems meet project specifications and requirements.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, and ensure all work is performed in a safe manner.
• Ensure that all work meets industry standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including documentation of any changes or modifications made to electrical systems.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program within Ontario
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrician, with a focus on tunnelling and microtunnelling projects using mechanized tunnel and microtunnelling boring machines
• Experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of power distribution systems, lighting, controls, and communication systems
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Must be willing to work in a physically demanding environment.
