We are seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist – Freight Brokerage/Non-Asset to support continued growth by prospecting, growing, and managing national and enterprise-level customer accounts across Canada and the United States.
This role is ideal for a professional with direct freight brokerage experience who can drive new business, expand existing accounts, and build long-term client relationships while collaborating closely with internal operations and carrier partners.
Key Responsibilities- Prospect, develop, and onboard new national and enterprise-level customer accounts
- Grow and manage a portfolio of customer accounts across Canada and the United States
- Build long-term client relationships and act as the primary point of contact
- Identify new revenue opportunities through new business development and account expansion
- Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and service agreements
- Collaborate closely with internal operations and carrier teams to ensure service excellence
- Monitor market trends, capacity, and pricing to support strategic account decisions
- Track performance metrics and maintain accurate records in CRM systems
- 1–8 years of direct experience in freight brokerage (required)
- Strong background in sales, account management, or business development within logistics or transportation
- Solid understanding of freight brokerage operations, pricing strategies, and carrier capacity
- Experience managing national or multi-location customer accounts
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
- Results-driven, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and sales tools
- Base salary: $65,000–$75,000 CAD (based on experience)
- Commission: 10% of Gross Profit — uncapped
