SUMMARY

Reporting to the National Key Accounts Director, the Key Accounts Manager plays a central role in the development and implementation of Vetoquinol's national commercial strategy. The Key Account Manager contributes to the sustainable growth of activities with strategic customers through an integrated approach that combines key account management and the deployment of value‑added commercial proposals. Working closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, supply chain, and solution development), the role supports the delivery of profitable local initiatives aligned with priority segments.

We are ideally looking for someone based in Ontario or with an excellent understanding of the Ontario market.

Main activities
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans that drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with strategic customers, with a view to long‑term collaboration.
  • Analyze the needs, challenges, and potential of each account to identify common growth drivers.
  • Contribute to negotiations and commercial agreements in line with the national strategy and the group's overall guidelines.
Performance monitoring and strategic analysis
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of performance indicators (sales, margins, profitability, customer satisfaction).
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and updating of information entered into the CRM regarding accounts and actions taken.
  • Produce activity and results reports according to established deadlines.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform and adjust strategic recommendations.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights to support commercial and business decision‑making.
Cross-functional collaboration and influence
  • Support the national rollout of commercial strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with national and international Key Account team
Market monitoring and intelligence
  • Monitor market trends, developments in the veterinary sector, and competitive initiatives.
  • Communicate relevant information to internal stakeholders to support strategic decision‑making.
PROFILE
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the animal health field, particularly in the pet sector.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in key account management.
  • College or university degree in animal health, administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • Good knowledge of the network of veterinary clinics in Canada, including groups and purchasing cooperatives.
  • Proven experience in negotiating national or regional framework agreements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting partnerships.
  • Ability to influence and mobilize various stakeholders.
  • Autonomy, rigor, and strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical mind enabling data interpretation and decision‑making support.

SPECIFIC CONDITIONS of the function:
  • Approximately 50% of the role involves travelling in the field, with a significant presence in Ontario.
  • Attend regional and national conferences.
  • This role requires ongoing communication and collaboration with French and English speakers across Canada and/or internationally. In order to fully meet the language requirements and ensure effective management of interactions, proficiency in French and English is essential.
