Keethanow Group of Businesses operates several community-based retail operations under the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) including a Food and Supermarket, Gas bar, Lumber and furniture store, Liquidation store, and multiple local grocery outlets. RETAIL OPERATIONS MANAGER

Reporting to the General Manager KGB, the Retail Operations Manager (ROM) is a key leadership role responsible for the overall operations, performance, and profitability of all KGB retail businesses. The ROM provides direction and oversight to store managers, ensuring that operational standards, financial targets, and customer service goals are consistently achieved across all locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all store managers and frontline supervisors across multiple retail locations.

• Develop, implement, and monitor standardized operational procedures and performance targets.

• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality customer service and community engagement.

• Oversee operational budgets, financial performance, and expense controls for all divisions.

• Conduct site visits, audits, and compliance inspections to ensure accountability and adherence to standards.

• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, environmental standards, and retail licensing requirements.

• Identify and implement strategies for increased sales, margin growth, and operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with the Retail Inventory Manager to align stock planning, promotions, and supply strategies.

• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly performance reports to the General Manager.

• Develop and lead training programs for store managers and staff to enhance performance and service quality.

• Mentor and evaluate store management teams through regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.

• Promote teamwork and effective communication among management and staff across all stores.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, community stakeholders, and local partners.

• Lead and support contingency and emergency response planning for retail operations.

• Contribute to KGB’s strategic planning, business development, and expansion initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Preferably a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Retail Management, or Commerce.

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive retail management experience (multi-site or multi-department preferred).

• A combination of qualification and experience may be considered.

• Proven ability to manage staff, budgets, and operational performance metrics.

• Demonstrated strength in leadership, team-building, and staff motivation.

• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Sound understanding of Health and Safety, WHMIS, and employment legislation.

• Strong financial literacy and ability to interpret reports, KPIs, and budgets.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management/POS systems.

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (travel to community stores required).

• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (mandatory condition of employment).
