The Shipper Receiver must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and/or written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Shipper Receiver will be responsible for pulling orders using FIFO (First In First Out) procedure, loading and unloading of trucks (finished product and raw materials), rotation of production brought from production to warehouse, and maintaining good housekeeping.
The Shipper Receiver will back‑up the Production Forklift driver and Material Production Handler as needed. This role does not have direct reports.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP, and SOP.
- Notify incoming trucks to back up to correct dock doors, chock wheels, lock out airline.
- Check trailer contents to ensure product and quantity is correct before being received.
- Report any damaged product to Quality Assurance before receiving.
- Retrieve and match shipping bill of lading and pick ticket.
- Pull and stage using FIFO and pick ticket.
- Check order a second time for accuracy before loading onto trailer (dates, quantity and quality).
- Load product onto trailer (third check of order for accuracy).
- Accurately complete ship confirmation for outgoing shipments and print bill of lading.
- Assist as backup on the bottling lines as needed.
- Follow all safety rules to include LOTO and keep area clean and in orderly condition.
- Responsible for food product quality and safety.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Forklift certification required.
- 1 year experience within a food processing, bottling, liquid filling/blending and/or consumer goods manufacturing/packing environment preferred.
- 2 years forklift experience required.
- Ability to use common hand tools.
- Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform duties involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness.
- Basic mathematics skills required.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new job‑related software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
- Must be able to perform on‑call duty on any shift and work overtime on short notice. Long‑term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required.
- Ability to work in high temperatures, at heights, and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes, and chemicals requiring personal protective equipment.
- Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/descend.
- Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., 50+ lbs. with assistance.
