About the role
The Deputy Chief Electoral Officer (Electoral Finance and Operations) [DCEO-EF&O] is one of two Deputy Chief Electoral Officers reporting to the Chief Electoral Officer. This position has a key role in the policy direction and strategic planning of Elections BC and in enabling the organization to meet its strategic and operational objectives. With overall responsibility for two program areas, Electoral Finance and Electoral Operations, the DCEO-EF&O has significant leadership responsibilities for provincial electoral event readiness and delivery, including the leadership and direction of over 17,000 election officials in the field.
The DCEO-EF&O ensures that the plans for the delivery of electoral events are developed, maintained, and executed; that electoral event planning and management activities comply with legislation and EBC policy; and that voter registration and campaign financing and disclosure activities continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of voters, the public and political participants in the electoral process.
