MAIN PURPOSE OF

THE ROLE:

The CMiC Subject Matter Expert (SME) is the organization’s primary technical and functional expert on the CMiC ERP platform, including Financials, Project Management, Equipment, and related modules. This role ensures system stability, optimization, data integrity, and process alignment across all departments using CMiC.

The SME acts as a bridge between IT, Finance, Payroll, Field Operations, and Project Management, supporting and enhancing business workflows, leading module implementations, troubleshooting issues, training users, and ensuring CMiC operates at peak effectiveness.

• Serve as the primary administrator for CMiC, overseeing user management, permissions, roles, and security profiles.
• Configure CMiC modules to align with changing business processes.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot application issues, and work with CMiC support.
• Coordinate annual and periodic CMiC updates, patches, and enhancements.

• Evaluate workflows across Finance, Payroll, Project Controls, and Field Operations.
• Recommend and implement configuration changes to increase efficiency.
• Document business processes, system settings, integrations, and customizations.

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 user support for complex CMiC issues.
• Develop training materials, job aids, and onboarding resources.
• Lead training sessions and coach teams to improve adoption.

• Maintain data quality standards through audits and validations.
• Support data integrations between CMiC and other enterprise systems.

• Collaborate with developers and consultants on integrations using APIs and ETL tools.
• Assist with design, testing, and deployment of CMiC customizations.
• Support workflows, forms, document management, and automation.

• Lead or support CMiC-related projects including upgrades and module rollouts.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements.
• Maintain project documentation, test scripts, and change management plans.
• Act as the main point of contact with CMiC support and consultants.
• Coordinate escalations and enhancement requests.
• Evaluate new CMiC features, modules, and enhancements.

• Perform other responsibilities as required to support IT and system optimization.

• Expert-level knowledge of CMiC ERP modules.
• Strong understanding of databases, data structures, and integrations.
• Proficiency with SQL and BI/reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to support non-technical users.
• Strong documentation and training capabilities.
• Experience in construction, heavy civil, or project-based operations is an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Commitment to continuous learning and platform improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on CMiC experience preferred.
• Experience supporting ERP systems within construction or similar industries.
• Experience with SQL, APIs, analytics, or integration tools.
• Experience with Payroll, Finance, Project Controls, or HR systems is an asset.
• Experience with B2W, Dayforce, or similar applications is an asset.
• Experience with implementations, upgrades, and data migrations.
